HOUSE LEADER

L?Arche Cork invites applications from suitable candidates for the
position of House Leader.

_L?Arche Cork is recruiting for the position of House Leader in one
of our houses. This role involves leading a team of assistants in
order to provide a warm and friendly home for residents with an
intellectual disability._

_L?Arche is an international organisation based in many countries
around the world building community with adults who have an
intellectual disability. Our aim is to recognise the value of each
person and enable them to grow and develop as individuals._

The primary role of this position is to work closely with the house
team providing support for the residents with their activities of
daily living and healthcare needs through adhering to the L?Arche
ethos and National Standards. The candidate who is successful in
filling the position will be a good communicator and will have a warm
and friendly disposition. Good organisational and written skills are
also essential aspects of the role.

This will be a full-time live-out role which will include some
evenings and weekends. The salary will be commensurate with HSE pay
scales.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

* Candidates must have a relevant qualification in social care,
healthcare or similar area.
* Some previous experience of leading a team along with good
organisational and written skills.
* Knowledge and experience of working with people with an
intellectual disability and managing people?s well-being using an
evidence based approach to person centred planning
* A good understanding of HIQA requirements and of the National
Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with
Disabilities and The Health Act **Apply on the website** (Care and

* The person filling the role will demonstrate a clear commitment to
community integration and active citizenship for all people with
disabilities
* A full clean driving license.
